The contemporary labour market has many forms of employment relations that vary from the standard model of employment. These types of employments, conceptualised differently in different countries and regions, are properly defined as atypical forms of employment. Atypical employment refers to employment relationships that do not conform with the regular model of open-ended employment with a single employer over an extended period.
