Telecommunication

Our telecommunications regulatory practice focuses on assisting our clients in compliance issues relating to matters under the supervision of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), securing operating licenses for various telecoms services. Our team provides advice on collocation and infrastructure sharing, terrestrial wireless backhaul networks, fibre connectivity, ownership of telecoms infrastructure and type-approval of equipment, rights of way, antitrust and competition issues, publicity and advertising, spectrum and frequency allocation, licensing and other legal and regulatory issues in the telecommunications sector. We have a cross-disciplinary team of lawyers specializing in the telecommunications industry which makes for a broad range of expertise regarding matters of importance to our clientele.

At S. P. A. Ajibade & Co., our various departments and sector-specific practices actively interface with different agencies regularly on behalf of our clients to ensure that our clients meet the regulatory and compliance requirements of various government agencies. Some of the government agencies we interact with are: Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON); the National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC); the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and the National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP). Others are the Trademarks, Patents and Designs Registry, the Corporate Affairs Commission and the Nigerian Copyright Commission. We aim to ensure that our clients are relieved of the uncertainties and often tedious regulatory requirements of these agencies. We also provide much-needed comfort and assurance in this area, thus freeing our clients to concentrate on their core business objectives.
