Our energy regulatory practice focuses on licensing, rate regulation and other issues arising under the jurisdiction of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC). We have a cross-disciplinary team of lawyers specialising in all aspects of the power generation industry, including gas and coal. We are actively engaged in projects and work in West Africa, Eastern and Western Europe, the Middle East and Asia, both relating to the development of gas and coal projects, and disputes arising out of existing and new build plants. Our advice to clients extends to M&A of power assets, construction, O&M and power purchase agreements, decommissioning, carbon capture and storage gas and pricing disputes relating to PPA’s, GTA’s and GSAs, environmental, regulatory, property and planning matters.
We advise on all aspects of all renewable and clean energy technologies including, onshore and wind, biomass and biofuels, waste, solar, hydro generation, and carbon credit trading.
Our oil and gas practice is based across our international network of offices and associated offices, ensuring we have people available on the ground wherever our clients are operating. Our clients in these regions include; major integrated oil companies, pure E & P companies, service companies, Governments, IOCs and NOCs. We can advise on upstream exploration, development and production deals, LNG projects, gas pipelines, refining, trading and distribution downstream, Public International Law, international dispute resolution, shipping, international projects/project finance and regulatory/health and safety and compliance. We also advise on many international law issues affecting upstream investment, including boundary delimitation issues, DZs and environmental and related international obligations.
