Harold Benson is a member of the Firm’s Dispute Resolution Department. He is a seasoned corporate and commercial litigation lawyer with demonstrable history and proven results in practice areas like: banking and finance, intellectual property law, debt recovery, bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings, and alternative dispute resolution processes. He has handled very complex briefs including auditing the litigation portfolio of a prominent federal corporation, and thereafter, proffering legal advisory on strategies for swift resolution of over 500 of the corporation’s debt recovery cases across different courts in Nigeria; auditing the litigation portfolio of a multinational company which enabled the company to be listed on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange; and litigating on a tax dispute of public interest which culminated in a major amendment of the Value Added Tax Act, 2004 (as amended).
Harold was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2012. Thereafter, he practiced at reputable law firms including Afe Babalola SAN & Co. He was the Head of Publications at Joseph Nwobike SAN & Co., before joining the team at S.P.A Ajibade & Co. Harold is a devoted legal researcher and is guided by his personal mantra that: every case in court is won or lost at the lawyer’s desk.
