The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has extended the deadline for requisite companies and organisations to submit their 2019 Data Protection Audit Report to 15th May 2020.

The hitherto 15th March 2020 deadline has been extended by Mr. Kashif Inuwa, Director General of NITDA because of the coronavirus pandemic that has affected the operations of many companies and organisations in Nigeria.

The Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) 2019 mandates all data controllers who process the personal data of more than 2,000 data subjects to submit a data protection audit report to NITDA on or before 15th March every year.
